THE LOST CITY: Life Imitates Art for Sandra Bullock & Channing Tatum in the New Romantic Adventure

By: John M Jerva

Well, this movie looks like fun, and it definitely has a Romancing the Stone vibe to it. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum look like they have the right amount of chemistry and Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe looks like he’s just having loads of fun in paramount Picture’s new romantic adventure The Lost City. Throw in Brad Pitt and this one looks like just what the doctor ordered for these troubling times. A new trailer has just dropped showcasing the humor and excitement in store for audiences when the film hits.

“Brilliant, but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic places in her popular romance-adventure novels featuring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, ‘Dash.’ While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes that she can lead him to the ancient lost city’s treasure from her latest story. Wanting to prove that he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books, Alan sets off to rescue her. Thrust into an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.”

From directors Aaron and Adam Nee, the film looks fun. Ryan Reynolds was sought after at one time for a The Proposal reunion with Bullock but a deal couldn’t get done so Tatum stepped into the role. Pitt looks solid and looks to be making fun of action heroes so count me in for this one and even though it looks like a modern take on that classic film with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, I’m still on board as I need to laugh a lot more nowadays.

The Lost City hits theaters this March 25th from Paramount Pictures.
