DC FanDome definitely isn’t making fans wait around for the good stuff as the new trailer for John Cena’s upcoming Peacemaker HBOMAX series is now online. This one is definitely upping the quirky meter as we are treated to some outrageous new superheroes, team building exercises that go off the reservation, butt babies and above all “eagle hugs!” Check it out below!
The official press release reads:
Written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran, Peacemaker debuts on HBO Max on Thursday, January 13. Peacemaker will explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.
The series stars John Cena (F9: The Fast Saga, Vacation Friends) as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks (Close Enough) as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma (Pitch Perfect, Bridgerton) as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland (Sun Records, The Suicide Squad) as Harcourt, Steve Agee (The Suicide Squad, Superstore) as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji (Designated Survivor, John Wick: Chapter 2) as Murn, and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Faculty) as Auggie Smith.
Cena is rocking this role and the show looks like a completely insane good time. Suicide Squad director James Gunn returns to helm five of the eight episodes and he penned the entire first season. If you loved the movie then you’ll definitely get a collective blast out of this.
