Schwarzenegger Set for EXPENDABLES Return

By: John M Jerva

There’s a distinct air of mystery surrounding the recently announced Expendables film. Is it a fourth film? Is it a spin-off? It’s a little murky at the moment but it does sound like this will be a Jason Starham led film regardless and with new casting coming in we now have word that Trench himself Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again be joining the team for this next mission.

Moviehole brought the exclusive yesterday stating that Arnie has arrived in Budapest ahead of his shoot so he can officially quarantine before filming his scenes.

“Schwarzenegger has arrived in Budapest to shoot his scenes in the Scott Waugh-directed spin-off, ahead of a Winter commitment to Ivan Reitman’s “Twins” sequel. Hungary currently requires visitors to quarantine for 10-days, which is why the “Predator” star has arrived ahead of the October shoot dates.”

It is interesting that the article states that this will be a spin-off with Statham’s Lee Christmas character taking command although Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgen and Randy Couture are reprising their roles as well with new additions Andy Garcia, Megan Fox, 50 Cent and international action star Tony Jaa being added a few weeks back.

The newest film, tentatively titled Expendables : A Christmas Story is set to go in front of the cameras in October with a launch date sometime next year.

I’m sure more news on this one is on the horizon so keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come.

In the meantime, check out our Action Elite Live War Room chat where Eoin Friel and myself talk about the new film and those actors we’d like to see in it!
