I know I wasn’t going to write up any more delay articles but this one is pretty significant as Paramount Pictures has pushed back both of superstar Tom Cruise’s upcoming films.
Deadline is reporting that due to ongoing concerns from the recent surges of COVID-19, Top Gun: Maverick is now moving from November 19, 2021, to May 27, 2022, and Mission: Impossible 7 is now going from May 27, 2022 to September 30, 2022.

I was excited as anything to finally see a sequel to one of my favorite Cruise movies of all time but now it seems like a distant memory. I understand the reasons but who says things are going to be good enough next year to warrant the films coming out on the new dates. We shall see.
It is interesting that Top Gun: Maverick will now go toe to toe with John Wick 4 which also hits that Memorial Day weekend. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lionsgate delays Baba Yaga’s return because of this. Fingers crossed.
