RAGING FIRE: Well Go USA Taps the Donnie Yen Led Actioner from Director Benny Chan for an August Theatrical Release!

By: John M Jerva

Donnie Yen fans in China are getting the opportunity this weekend to finally see the action icon’s latest endeavor as Raging Fire from late, great filmmaker Benny Chan is hitting theaters there but North American fans won’t have long to wait as Well Go USA, who acquired the film back in June, will release the movie for western audiences on August 13th with a limited cinema run before it hits Blu-Ray and Digital. Now, of course, I’ll have to wait until it launches on home video but at least it won’t be long after that. A new trailer has dropped for the film that also features Nicholas Tse as well which showcases the extreme action that will be featured in the film so check out Donnie below doing, well, what Donnie does best!

Shan (Donnie Yen) is a highly respected hardline cop with a long history of success on dangerous cases. However, his past unexpectedly comes back to haunt him when a sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals led by Ngo (Nicholas Tse), his former protégé, a talented former officer who had once respected and admired Shan. However, a terrible mistake three years prior landed him in prison, quickly turning the once rising star into a furious man with a grudge, and the will to destroy everyone who had wronged him—including his former mentor.

We also shared a newer version of the international trailer a few days ago courtesy of our friends over at Asian Film Fans so if the above teaser wasn’t enough for you then watch the domestic trailer below!

Ragin Fire will also debut at the 25th annual Fantasia Film Festival in Canada on August 10th and the event also droppede its own trailer for the film for you to view at your pleasure. Tickets can be bought here for the special screening.

Fresh imahges from Fantasia also dropped which you can view in the gallery below!

There’s no shortage of chaotic action set pieces on display in the newest tease and Yen is looking like he’s born again and looks sensational with Tse keeping up every inch of the way. This one has it all. Bullets, firepower and bone shattering fisticuffs courtesy of Yen and company. By the way, a belated happy birthday goes out to the martial arts icon who looks just as good now as he did when he first hit the action cinema market!
