OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him. Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes: G.I. The latest trailer features more of the bromance between Snake and Storm Shadow after Golding’s iconic ninja commando saves the latter’s life and we even get to see a hint of Storm Shadow enlisting for the dreaded Cobra Organization.

I’ve heard the negativity surrounding this film and the changes that were made to the mythology of the characters and I’m still on board. After all, if creator Larry Hama is on board and even suggested that the changes were necessary, then I think we can give it a shot. The footage has looked amazing so far and the cast is in top form especially our two leads. The choreography from Kenji Tanigaki (the Rurouni Kenshin franchise) is hyperkinetic and it looks absolutely thrilling. As a life long Joe fanatic and even more Snake Eyes freak, I’m reserving my judgement until I view it but it’s looking good from my end thus far.

Be sure to check out the Comic Con@Home panel this Wednesday at 1:00 pm Pacific as the cast and creator Larry Hama will be involved in a special Q&A.
