UPDATE: Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins has unveiled some fresh images from the anticipated movie featuring more shots of the cast in action! Check them out in the gallery below!

(Original Post) Today is Wednesday, July 7th and with that we have exactly sixteen days until Snake Eyes GI Joe Origins will be unleashed upon the masses in theaters nationwide. The film is set to dig deep into the mythology of one of GI JOE’s most iconic character and even though the continuity will differ from creator Larry Hama’s original concept, it still looks like an epic sword slicing good time.

Before the film hits theaters, the cast including Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Samara Weaving, Iko Uwais, Úrsula Corberó, Haruka Abe, and Takehiro Hira as well as creator Larry Hama will be featured in a special panel at this year’s Comic Con @Home. The event will kick off on Wednesday July 21st at 1:00 PM PST and will be hosted by AromicMari. This will consist of a live Q&A and will probably feature some exclusives and never before seen footage from the film that will hit two days later on Friday, July 23rd.

The Snake Eyes Comic-Con @ Home panel will be hosted by Mari Takahashi and will feature special content from the film, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive interviews with stars Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, Peter Mensah and Iko Uwais, and writer of the G.I. Joe comics, Larry Hama! Also, in association with Comic-Con, Snake Eyes will be screened for fans FIRST across the country in 10 cities on Wednesday, July 21st. The Snake Eyes Comic-Con Fans First Premiere Screenings will take place in the following cities: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Miami, San Diego, Houston, Phoenix and Vancouver. Follow @snakeeyesmovie and tune into the panel on July 21st for more information about how to see Snake Eyes when it premieres in your city for Comic-Con FANS FIRST.

It’s important to note that Hama has seen the movie and has given it his official stamp of approval! Hama also mentions that the changes made in the film were important for it to work in the present.

Just got home from a private screening of Snake-Eyes. It surpasses my expectations by a lot. Much more of a martial arts film than the last two outings, but still brings in the Joes (through Scarlett) and Cobra (through the Baroness.) Very impressive fight choreography which is mostly practicals, and the acting quality of the leads lends the subject matter much gravitas. There will be those who will not like the deviance from my comics continuity, but I felt it was what needed to be done to make the story work in the present.
