BLADE: Marvel Studios Announces Delay in Production Start for the MCU Reboot

By; John M Jerva

With the release of the MCU Phase IV sizzle reel and the announcement of all the dates for the new slate of films, I was wondering when Marvel would introduce their version of Blade first announced at the 2019 SDCC. This newer version will star Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali who last appeared in Netflix’s Luke Cage series.

Now word out of The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the production for the film has been delayed until July of 2022. This is so that the studio can spend more time with the script that’s being penned by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen). This is historic because she is the first Black female writer to write a Marvel Studios movie.

This is unfortunate as we will have to wait longer to see Ali as the iconic Daywalker unless he makes a surprise appearance in another one of the films that is coming out over the next few years. This would be a good idea so Marvel can add excitement over the project for fans that are waiting.

That’s all for now so keep it locked and loaded right here for more 411 on the MCU’s Blade!
