There are major spoilers in this news post fo if you haven’t finished Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier then read no further…

OK, if you’re still reading then you’ve watched or you just don’t care so wit was one hell of a finale as the big reveal came within the first few minutes of the episode when we see Sam finally take up the mantle of the new Captain America and he makes a grand entrance during the climatic fight when he soars into view with one hell of an awesome new uniform. It was a great moment for fans and Anthony Mackey was sensational as he took on former MMA bad boy Georges St-Pierre in some well choreographed fisticuffs as well as choppers in the final altercation. You can check out Sam in all his Captain America splendor below!

THR is now confirming that Marvel Studios has announced that a fourth Captain America is officially in development with Mackey ready to take flight with his first solo theatrical outing.

Per THR: The head writer and creator of Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Malcolm Spellman is developing a fourth installment of the Captain America film franchise for Marvel Studios. Spellman will co-write the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The feature is likely to continue the story of Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, and the current wielder of the shield. But as the writers get to work, it will be interesting to see how the story unfolds with there now being multiple people who have been Captain Americas in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, this is all in the very early istages so there is no other news to report like cast and crew but those announcements will likely flood the net in the coming weeks. If anything, the rumor mill will be in full effect for it.

Will Chris Evans make a special appearance? Well if you ask him the answer is no but I’ve learned to never say never. Mackie looked sensational in the uniform and with the wings fully extended, it was a fanboy delight to say the least.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just wrapped up its six episode run yesterday so be on the lookout for my thoughts on it this week. I will say that it was my favorite Marvel series thus far and I love how they changed the title to Captain America and the Winter Soldier at the end. The only downside is that there are no further seasons of these series scheduled so hopefully that changes in the future because Mackey and fellow star Sebastian Stan were solid as the heroic duo.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more on this developing story and long live Captain America!
