We are just about a month away from the debut of the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat reboot and with a series of promo teasers that hit last week, Warner Bros has now released a brand new poster which assembled the cast of warriors who will do battle. Fans are eagerly awaiting this one as interest peeked with the debut of the red band trailer which features the violent action in the film. The one sheet below is an international poster vis WB Thailand.
MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage — or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana — the immense power from within his soul — in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?
Now we have more of an better look as the key art has been unveiled which features the cast of iconic characters that will be featured in the film from first time film director Simon McQuoid. The poster once again also cements the eternity led feud between Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) as they are featured prominently and we also get to see more of the cast which includes Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Mileena (Sisi Stringer), Kano (Josh Lawson), Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Kung Lao (Max Huang), Shang Tsung (Chin Han) and Raiden (Tadanobu Asano). This is definitely the best key art released to date.
Watch the new promos below again along with the red band trailer and get ready to “Get Over Here!” on April 16th when Mortal Kombat hits cinemas and HBOMAX simultaneously!
