With all the talk of more delays at your local theaters, we have some good news on an upcoming action pic formally titled Five Eyes that reunites action star Jason Statham with director Guy Ritchie.
According to Deadline, it appears that Josh Hartnett (Blackhawk Down, Pearl Harbor) had joined the cast for the movie which is currently shooting in Doha, Qatar before going to Turkey. Hartnett joins Statham as well as Aubrey Plaza (Happiest Season) and Cary Elees who were announced late last year. Miramax is producing and funding the pic while STXFILMS will be overseeing distribution.
The spy thriller stars Statham as an “MI6 guns-and-steel agent who is recruited by a global intelligence alliance to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker.”
