Well in a year where we’ve seen countless movies delayed or shelved, this is certainly welcoming news as Warner Bros. has officially announced that the highly anticipated monster smack down Godzilla Vs Kong will arrive nearly two months early. The launch date for the film was May 21st but now audiences will be able to see it much, much sooner on March 26th.

This news comes on the heels that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, who shelled out a ton of dough for the movie, reached a settlement to run the pic in theaters as well as HBOMAX simultaneously. Legendary was less than enthused when Warner Bros announced that their whole 2021 slate would mirror this release strategy which would take a bite out of the theatrical intake. The two companies reached an agreement which involved Warner Bros shelling out around $200 million to keep the release strategy in tact.

Warner Bros. is also trying to work out a similar agreement with Legendary over the release of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. Legendary is concerned that putting out these high profile pics on a streaming service will put a massive dent in the money they’ll receive for them but it looks like the two are starting to makeup.

With the news that Godzilla Vs Kong is set to unleash in a couple months, hopefully we will finally see a trailer for the movie soon.

The official synopsis for the movie reads “In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”

Godzilla Vs Kong stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Zhang Ziyi, Demian Bichir, and Julian Dennison but we all know who the real stars of the movie are don’t we?

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come including first look footage as Godzilla Vs Kong stomps into theaters and your home entertainment center on March 26th!
