20th Century Studios Enlists Dan Trachtenberg to Helm a Fifth PREDATOR FLICK

By: John M Jerva

The last Predator movie aptly titled The Predator wasn’t much of a commercial or critical success leading many to speculate that this would be the final nail in the coffin for the franchise that once started with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ever since the original, many have tried to capture lightning in a bottle twice but besides the second film, each subsequent entry hadn’t faired any better.

Well the life support is still operational as Deadline is reporting that not only is a fifth film in the works but 20th Century Studios has already found a director in Dan Trachtenberg who is best known for 10 Cloverfield Lane. Trachtenberg hadn’t directed since but it appears the studio like what they see in the filmmaker.

Sources are saying that the plot is unknown for the upcoming installment but it will not take up after the last film which was unresolved with the controversial Predator killing outfit. Patrick Aison has been tapped to write the film which will probably restart the franchise once again. Aison is best known for Kingdom, Jack Ryan and Treadstone.

This is a very unpopular opinion but with all the problems with the last entry, I still enjoyed it and I actually liked the ending which surely will cause a stir in my fan base. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes from here and hopefully they can bring it back to the original and include Arnold this time.
