Update: Screen Rant has released the official international sales trailer for the movie which is set to launch Gillian White into official action heroine status. Shout! Factory has acquired the film for a 2021 release. Check out the new footage below!

(Original Post) After last appearing in the recent Netflix film Welcome To Sudden Death, the husband and wife team of Michael Jai White and Gillian White are back and this time they’re on the same side and just like in real life, they play a married couple who must fight for their lives when the past comes back to haunt them. The new film is called Take Back and this time it’s Gillian that is front and center.

Official Synopsis: Zara (Gillian White) and Brian (Michael Jai White) are living the perfect small town life when a mysterious stranger from Zara’s secret past kidnaps their daughter and now they must race to save her life.

Helmed by Christian Sesma (The Night Crew, The Vigilante Diaries) the film boasts a pretty solid cast that includes James Russo, Paul Sloan and a Mickey Rourke.

Like I mentioned, Gillian is in the lead here this time and she cranks out some pretty solid onscreen fighting skills but no worries, it looks like Michael gets in on the action as well. Rourke is once again playing the heavy and as hell does so well, his character looks ever so slimy.

Interesting enough, the teaser poster above says it’s inspired by true events which makes the film even more intriguing. This film looks like it may turn Gillian into the next female action star and she has done slick moves just like her husband.

Release date pending, you can check out the Whites in action in the new teaser below!
