Never accuse action star Michael Jai White of staying in neutral as he has numerous projects in the pipeline as well as the recently released Netflix Actioner Welcome to Sudden Death. entertaining the masses as we speak. White is now being announced as the newest edition to filmmaker Asif Akbar’ upcoming film titled The Commando which will team him up with Mickey Rourke and the two will go head to head.
Per Deadline: The Commando stars White as elite DEA agent James Baker who has PTSD and returns home after a botched mission. He’s faced with protecting his family from a newly released prison criminal, played by Rourke, and his henchmen who’ve come after a stash of millions inside the agent’s house.

The film is expected to roll in front of the cameras next month in New Mexico from a script penned by Koji Steven Sakai from a story by Al Bravo, Akbar and himself. Akbar is known for directing the Sci-Fi action Film Astro which starred Gary Daniels.
The Commando is just one of many films coming from MJW which also include director Christian Sesma’s Take Back and Jon Keeyes’s Red 48 which also stars Tyrese Gibson. White also has his passion project The Outlaw Johnny Black waiting in the wings which he also directed and will star star in director Christopher Ray’s Assault On VA-33 as well so he’s definitely keeping busy.
