Update: In a time when most films are being bumped to 2021, here’s some good news in that Monster Hunter, which was shelved from this past September till April of next year has been bumped forward as the release date for December, which was teased in the new teaser that dropped, is true and the film will now hit on December 30th right smack dab in the middle of the holidays. With no big movies hitting and Dune getting delayed until next October, Monster Hunter might reap the rewards in this new slot as people will be looking for new movies to see on the big screen.

(Original Post) Three months ago, we found out that director Paul W.S. Anderson’s video game adaptation Monster Hunter had suffered the same fate as pretty much every film this year crystal was supposed to hit cinemas in that it was shelved until next year. The film which stars Resident Evil’s Milla Jovovich and international action star Tony Jaa was supposed to drop last month but the pandemic forced it to switch to next year on April 23rd or so we thought. Stay with me now.

We do have some good news for you however in that a first look teaser trailer has launched for the film and even though it’s short (like only 15 seconds), it still gives us our first indication of what to expect and at the end of the promo it clearly states only in theaters this December so at this rate who knows what anymore. The teaser features Jovovich and her team as they see a very big monster for the first time.

Jovovich & Jaa strike a pose in Monster Hunter

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity.

When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

The film also stars Ron Perlman, T.I. Harris (Ant-Man and The Wasp), Diego Boneta (Luis MiguelRock of Ages), as well as Meagan Good (Code Black) and Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past). Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil franchise) directs and also penned the screen play which is the first feature film for him since he finished his blockbuster franchise Resident Evil which also starred Jovovich.

MONSTER HUNTER is expected to release this December according to the teaser so check back here on that one. It’s fast and furious and Jaa’s nowhere in site but check out the fast teaser below and keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come. A definite release date would be nice.
