I haven’t reported a lot on the Avatar sequels in the past as it’s been so long for these films to become reality. But things are shaping up for filmmaker James Cameron’s sequels as we have some BTS images for you courtesy of producer Jon Landau who took to Twitter. One image is a pretty sweet battle sequence too!

As you can see from the above photos, the dreaded RDA security operations team, which was run by Stephen Lang in the original is back and unloading some massive firepower.

Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver along with Lang who will appear in all four sequels. New additions feature Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement, and Oona Chaplin.

Lang has been confirmed to be the villain once again so obviously he has some sore feelings about what happened in the first film.

Of course, the pandemic has played havoc with release dates and Avatar is no exception with the films being pushed back a year from December 17, 2021 to December 22, 2022 for the second, the third being pushed back from December 22, 2023 to December 2024, number four opening on December 18, 2026 and finally the fifth movie hitting on December 22, 2028 now.
