The saga that is Fox’s The New Mutants continues to grow as the long delayed X-Men spin-off is once again locked in for a theatrical release in August.
If you’ve been following the stormy waters of the film from its on set troubles to its re-shoots, then you know it was unclear if we would even see the finished product when Disney acquired Fox last year. Fans who were hoping for excited when Fox announced that the movie would be released and even get a cinema push in April. Then the pandemic hit and once again the film was delayed.
Rumors swirled that it works once again be dumped on Hulu or something but now it looks like the movie will indeed get a theatrical premiere on August 28th per Variety.
The New Mutants “follows five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.”
Starring are Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) as Magik, Maisie Williams (HBO’s Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton (Netflix’s Stranger Things) as Cannonball, Blu Hunt (The Originals) as ‘Danielle Moonstar’, Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) as ‘Sunspot and Alice Braga (I Am Legend) as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) helms the pic.
