I’ll have to admit that I wasn’t a big fan of the original film adaptation of Dune but when I heard they were redoing it, I was a little intrigued and when I heard Jason Momoa was attached as well as Josh Brolin and the animal himself Dave Bautista, my curiosity reached a fever pitch.

Now we have our first look at the cast courtesy of Vanity Fair magazine and I must say just by the images alone, this looks pretty damn stellar. Take a look at them all below and hopefully the movie will make its December release.

Dune follows “Paul Atreides, a child of privilege raised by a powerful family, but not one strong enough to protect him from the dangers that await. As the Atreides family leaves the oceanic world of Caladan to take over scorching Arrakis, they are also becoming prey to the brutal rival House Harkonnen, which seeks to exploit the desert world they are about to inherit. House Atreides is just one more part of the landscape to annihilate.”

Helmed by Denis Villeneuve, the film boasts an all-star cast including Timothée Chalamet (The King), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: Rise Of The Skywalker), Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Endgame), and Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout). Also starring are Stellan Skarsgård (Thor), Dave Bautista (Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy) and Javier Bardem (Skyfall). This is some serious star power here and when the first trailer hits, we will surely be amazed at some breathtaking visuals and dramatic power.

Of course, from an action standpoint, I’m most excited to see how Momoa is utilized and judging from the pic below where he’s holding a nasty looking weapon of war and looking ready for combat, here’s hoping he bashes some skulls in. The costumes and the look and style all look sensational and Villeneuve proved with Blade Runner 2049 that he can certainly bring the mood and vibe.

Dune is expected to hit theaters on December 18th and hopefully that’s enough time that things will resume to some sort of normalcy. Peek at even more images below while we wait in self isolation for a new trailer and click the Variety link below to immerse yourself in the world that is Dune.
