There’s a rumor swirling around that Creed II’s strongman Florian Munteanu is up for a villain role in the upcoming MCU martial arts epic Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. There is nothing officially confirmed at this time but the report via the website Dark Horizon has the word from a reliable source so take it as you will right now but I think that would be a fantastic idea if he does show up in the movie.
Munteanu is a professional heavyweight boxer and actor who is best known for playing Viktor Drago in Creed II alongside Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago and took on Michael B. Jordan in one epic fight at the end.
The site also states that Munteanu has been in Australia since January and has posted on his social media as such. The film is set to roll in front of the cameras in the first half of this year. International star Tony Leung is playing the main baddie The Mandarin in the flick and reports are saying that other villains such as Tiger-Claw, Moving Shadow, Razor-Fist, and Ghost Maker could all make an appearance as well. Plot details are secured right now but there is talk of an underground fighting tournament making its way into the film where Shang-Chi, played by Simu Liu of TV’s Taken, would square off against various opponents.
Destin Daniel Cretton is helming the pic which also stars Awkwafina. The film which is a part of the MCU’s Phase IV is set to open on February 12, 2021.
Once again no official confirmation yet so keep it locked and loaded right here for more 411!
