With the huge release of the new trailer for F9 which debuted via a large concert party in miami with the cast prsent, fdans are eagerly awaiting the newest installment as once again the action looks off the hook and our heroes defy gravity while in fast cars once again.
With a May 22nd release locked and loaded, we already set our sights on the tenth film which is said will be the finale of the series. Star Vin Diesel was recently interviewed by Total Film and he mentioned that he has been playing around with the idea of splitting the finale into two seperate films like The Hunger Games did.
In the interview, Diesel was quoted as saying
“I started planning for Fast 10 before we started filming Fast 9, very much so,” Diesel said. “The universe is so robust and so rich with talent and rich with story that, on one level, it’s totally feasible to have spinoffs, and I think that’s something that is inevitable. Universal deserves it because of how much they’ve invested in this little saga, and it’d be good to give back to Universal. And for the fans, should Fast 10 parts one and two be the conclusion, it would be nice for this world to continue for generations to come.”
This might be a risky gamble as some other franchises nixed the idea of two film finales like the Divergent series which hasn’t even finished the story as lackluster box office sales drowned that series of films.
With the series set to end with numnber 10, Universal has already set its sights on the future with spin-offs from the universe that have already included Dwayne “The Rock”Johnson and Jason Statham branching out on their own in Hobbs and Shaw which is said to be already developing a sequel. Another planned spin-off will suuposedly feature the female leads and there is another unknown spin-off in the works as well.
Nothing has been etched in stone yet so we will follow this story very closely so keep it locked and loaded right here for more from Diesel and the Fast And Furious!
