We now have our first look at the short form video platform Quibi’s new action/thriller series The Fugitive which stars Kiefer Sutherland as a detective who is on the hunt for escaped fugitive Mike Ferro played by Boyd Holbrook from The Predator.
In The Fugitive reboot, when a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on, blue-collar Mike Ferro just wants to make sure his wife, Allison, and 10-year-old daughter, Pearl, are safe. But the faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully — and very publicly — accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop heading the investigation can apprehend him.
The series is created by Nick Santora with Stephen Hopkins serving as both director and executive producer. The new series is a redo of the classic 60’s TV series and 1993 feature film which starred Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
The Quibi platform will launch on April 6th and it will be a short video platform service that will offer series that will run 2 to 4 hours in length. The deal is that the episodes will run in quick 10 minute installments which will be quite interesting. That is where the platform gets its name from as it stands for “Quick Bites.”
