He might not be The Joker anymore but Jared Leto has certainly moved on to a new comic book property as Sony Pictures has just given us our first look at their new Spider-Man spin-off film Morbius which stars Leto as the infamous vampire from the pages of Marvel Comics. Check out th new footage below!
In the adaptation, Leto stars as biochemist Michael Morbius who, in an attempt to cure his rare blood disease, made himself into a living vampire. The anti-hero has taken on Spider-Man numerous times before becoming more of the anti-hero as he got his own line of books.
The film also stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (Good Omens) as Martine Bancroft, Emmy nominee Jared Harris (The Crown) as Morbius’ mentor, and Tyrese Gibson of Fast and the Furious fame, who will play the role of an FBI agent.
It will be interesting to see how Sony plays out this whole shared universe with Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spidey who is still in the MCU. The smart thing to do of course is to have all three in a movie but time will tell.
Morbius hits theaters on July 31st so watch the goods directly below!
