By: John M Jerva

I have been waiting patiently for any and all news on director Jesse V. Johnson’s latest action offering The Mercenary which was called Legion Maxx at one time. The film reunites Johnson with his Pit Fighter star Dominiquie Vandenberg who also made an appearance in this year’s action assault epic Triple Threat.

Now official word coming from JoBlo.com has announced that the movie will finally premiere on DVD and Digital on January 7th, 2020 and to properly celebrate the occasion, a new and far more awesome bloody and brutal red band trailer has just dropped along with a new one sheet. Judging from the new promo spot, bodies are gonna hit the ground hard and blood will flow like it’s free so check out all the carnage and mayhem below because “redemption isn’t free!”

Maxx, a legionnaire turned mercenary. When a mission in South America goes wrong Maxx is left for dead, but he is nursed back to health and reborn with a new outlook on life. He tries to live tranquility within the confines of his new beliefs surrounded by his new friends at a church. But his peaceful days are short-lived when mercenaries he used to work with cross his path again and he is forced to revisit and face his own demons. His brutal past, war, and violence have come looking for him again. His path to redemption is interrupted and Maxx becomes an avenging warrior using the skills that were his trade.

Vandenberg  stars along with the great Louis Mandylor (The Debt Collector, Rambo: Last Blood) as well as Carmen Argenziano (CSI: NY).  Uncork’d Entertainment will release the film on the 7th of January so get ready for some action Jesse V. Johnson style and while we wait, peek at the trailer and some rousing new stills below!
