The highly anticipated GI: Joe spin-off Snake Eyes is now in production as of October but more casting news has been revealed via Deadline who confirms that Steven Allerick who is best known for Fear The Walking Dead and The Expanse has been enlisted to play Snake-Eyes’ father which will be played by Henry Golding. Allerick joins Golding and Andrew Koji who will play Storm Shadow and Iko Uwais who will play The Hard Master.
Per Deadline: Directed by Robert Schwentke, the movie is scheduled to open October 16. The G.I. Joe spinoff follows Snake Eyes, who, while on the hunt for the man who murdered his father, travels to Japan and trains with the ancient Arashikage ninja clan. Allerick joins a cast that includes Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Ursula Corbero as The Baroness and Andrew Koji as Snake Eyes’ brother and enemy, the ninja Storm Shadow.
The film is currently shooting in Vancouver as well as Japan with Robert Schwentke directing and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Erik Howsam, Brian Goldner, and Greg Mooradian producing.
Paramount and Hasbro also has the GI: Joe ensemble film Ever Vigilant in the works as well which will hopefully factor in with the Snake-Eyes film.
As a major fan of all things Joe, I am really psyched for the film and with the serious action talent involved like Uwais and Koji, I feel the action will be top notch.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to drop on the Arashikage Clan!
