Well nobody needs to say that Nicolas Cage is slowing down anytime soon as the once huge Hollywood draw has been cranking out the DTV releases for years now. It seems like we have news on a new Nic Cage project every other day or we are sharing a trailer for one of his many offerings. Personally, I’m excited for his turn in Jiu Jitsu where is starring along with Frank Grillo, Alain Moussi and Tony Jaa. That one sounds epic.

Well fret not Action-FLIX fanatics as we have your daily dose of Nicolas Cage news as he is set to star in a wonderfully crazy sounding new action, sci-fi, horror hybrid film called Prisoners Of The Ghostland. Now what makes this film do juicy for action aficionados is that he will be teaming up with Japanese action powerhouse Tak Sakaguchi who is best known for the cult classics Versus as well as Death Trance. Tak has also appeared in the more recent Re:Born which just debuted on the Shudder steaming service.

The synopsis for the film centers on “a notorious criminal, Hero (Cage), who is sent to rescue an abducted girl who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe, they must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland.”

Told you it sounded crazy but a good kind of crazy. Joining Cage and Tak in the move are Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as well as Sofia Boutella (Kingsman, The Mummy) as well as The Devil’s Reject’s Bill Moseley.

Famed Japanese Director Sion Sono will be helming the pic and is making his English language debut with principle photography set to begin in Japan This month.

There’s no word on how big a role Tak has or if he’ll be breaking out his killer moves but we will certainly keep you informed so keep it locked and loaded right here for more!
