I know that I mainly do action films and TV on my site but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy all the genres in the field of movies. Action is my one and only true love but I’m always up for a good comedy or horror flick and when it’s combined with the action genre, even better.
That being said, I am a big fan of The Collector franchise which has spawned two films thus far and even though it takes its cues from the Saw franchise, I think that it has a lot to offer the action crowd. It just so happens that the writers of Saw IV, V, VI and VII are also responsible for these films too so there lies the comparison. The series stars Josh Stewart, who rocked it as John Pilgrim in season 2 of The Punisher, as an anti-hero named Arkin who unfortunately crosses paths with a greater evil when he tries to rob a wealthy home because he is in desperate need of cash. From there, the films go off the chains with violence, scares and thrills and the sequel The Collection served up even more action set pieces as Arkin goes up against the ultimate, unknown madman once again this time with a team of mercenaries.
The last film ended with a cliffhanger of sorts and I am pleased to say that a third film is now in production as we speak which is titled The Collected. The film is being helmed by Marcus Dunstan who also directed the first two films as well as the crazy, balls out horror film Feast.
Stewart returns once again as Arkin who must do battle with The Collector and this time all bets are off. To celebrate the start of production, Stewart shared a first look photo on his Twitter page of himself as Arkin on set in Atlanta. Peek at the post below!

Starring along with Stewart in The Collected and returning from the previous film is Emma Fitzpatrick and new cast members include Randy Havens (Stranger Things), Dot-Marie Jones (Three From Hell) and Navi Rawat (FEAST). Veteran genre actor Tom Atkins (Night Of The Creeps, Halloween Three: Season Of The Witch) also stars in the film as well.
