International action star Wu Jing (The Wolf Warrior franchise) is taking on some pretty heavy disaster epics as of late with just recently starring in Netflix’s The Wandering Earth where he had the unthinkable task of saving the whole planet. Now Jing is taking on one serious mountain in the new Daniel Lee helmed epic The Climbers which is set to be released limitedly in theaters. A new trailer and poster have dropped for the film and you can check it out below. The film also has an appearance by the iconic Jackie Chan!

Official Synopsis: “Based on a true story from award winning director Daniel Lee (Three Kingdoms, 14 Blades), featuring China’s biggest stars Wu Jing (Wandering Earth, Wolf Warrior 2) and Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Grandmaster), and with a special guest appearance from superstar Jackie Chan. THE CLIMBERS is a cinematic retelling of the first Chinese climbers to summit Mount Everest – the first ever to do so from the North Ridge. Well-known as the most challenging side of the mountain, the perilous journey takes its toll on the mountaineers, physically and mentally, forcing them to make life or death decisions at every turn.”

Also starring are Zhang Ziyi, Zhang Yi, Jing Boran with legendary Hong Kong Helmer Tsui Hark serving as producer.

The Climbers hits IMAX theaters exclusively on October 30th with a limited release rolling out after on October 4th!
