Well, it;s another day and another article about director and action maestro David Leitch. With his newest action offering, HOBBS AND SHAW, opening this weekend, the hot in demand director has been making the promotional rounds to help support the blockbuster film which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham.
This piece of news is good and if it comes to fruition then we are in for a real treat as the director has expressed a big interest in helming the MCU’s recently announced BLADE film that will star two time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. The news broke during the Marvel panel at SDCC and it has been in the news ever since.

Leitch, who cut his teeth as a stunt professional for years before breaking out as one of the premiere action directors, expressed his interest in a recent interview with Screen Rant. Leitch has history with the BLADE franchise as he worked on the original film as a stuntman years back.
In the interview, Leitch was quoted as saying, “I love Blade. And it’s actually one of the first stunt jobs that I was in, the original Wesley Snipes one. I was a stunt performer in that movie. I was in the blood club. You remember that scene? Yes, dancing around in the recycled special effects blood. It was great.”

Ali won’t appear as the Daywalker for some time as it is being reported that BLADE probably won’t debut until Phase V but there is rumblings that he could premiere in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS.
Leitch is one busy man as he is also prepping THE DIVISION for Ubisoft and Netflix and is also working on UNDYING LOVE which is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman.
It could be done, however, and both Marvel and Leitch could iron out the details and have plenty of time to collaborate as the film won’t debut until sometime in 2022.
There’s no denying that this will be one hot topic from now until we get definitive casting and director news. You know what to do and that’s keep it locked and loaded right here as we are your source for everything action!
