Dominiquie Vandenberg has starred in some pretty kick ass films in the past. The former French Legionnaire has thrown plenty of fisticuffs in the cult classic Pit Fighter And has recently been seen in the action epic Triple Threat. Both films were helmed by action maestro Jesse V. Johnson and the two have collaborated once more in the upcoming action-thriller Legion MAXX which will now officially be called The Mercenary in the U.S. and the U.K.
The film was supposed to hit this summer but Vandenberg has taken to social media to announce that the film has been pushed back six months. While this will certainly not bode well with us action junkies, Vandenberg says that it’s for a very good reason.
Check out the statement Vandenberg shared to the cast and crew below on Facebook!
While I would love to see what Mr. Vandenberg And Mr. Johnson have cooked up, I understand the business. In the future, I will do my best to help promote smaller, independent projects like this one find an audience just like in the past. It certainly is cool that the movie will hit the big screens in some territories and I will be waiting ever so impatiently for January 7th to come.
Vandenberg stars along with Louis Mandylor in a tale of one man’s path to redemption and the fight he must undertake against those he once called allies.
Synopsis: “Maxx is a legionnaire turned mercenary. When a mission in South America goes wrong Maxx is left for dead, but he is nursed back to health and reborn with a new outlook on life. He tries to live tranquilly within the confines of his new beliefs surrounded by his new friends at a church. But his peaceful days are short-lived when mercenaries he used to work with cross his path again and he is forced to revisit and face his own demons. His brutal past, war and violence have come looking for him again. His path to redemption is interrupted and Maxx becomes an avenging warrior using the skills that were his trade.”
In the meantime, check out the initial trailer that was released a while back and get ready for some serious fisticuffs and firepower!
