Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren Return for FAST 9!

The Rock and Jason Statham may be sitting Fast 9 out due to their involvement with the first ever spin-off film Hobbs And Shaw hitting theaters on August 2nd, but that doesn’t mean that there will be a shortage of star power as Vine Diesel, once again, has confirmed on Instagram that both Academy Award winners Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will be returning for the ninth installment. Check out Diesel’s video announcement below!

In the video, Diesel marks that it’s week 3 of shooting and that a lot of the original cast is back including Theron, Mirren and a few more surprises which he promises so we will all have to wait anxiously for more juicy details to drop in the future. the production is in its early stages so a lot can happen until it wraps.

WWE superstar John Cena has also joined the film of course and his announcement was made earlier and Diesel addresses how great it is to have to actor in the next film. We still don’t know what character he will be playing but it will be interesting to see who he is. It will also be interesting to say the least how Theron’s character Cipher comes back and Mirren is a welcomed addition as always as Magdalene Shaw even though her son Deckard Shaw won’t be around. Maybe Owen Shaw will make another appearance as he was played by Luke Evans. Evans made a cameo in The Fate Of The Furious as he teamed up with big brother Deckard to assault Cypher’s plane in one of the film’s best action sequences. We shall see.

Justin Lin returns to direct once again so expect more insane action to fill theaters when the film opens.

Fast 9 will hit theaters next year on May 22nd so buckle up and keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come as we are your destination for everything action and Fast 9!
