Although Dark Phoenix is getting it’s collective ass handed to it since its release, one positive aspect of the film seems to be Michael Fassbender’s return as Magneto. Now Fassbender can firmly put the X-Men in his rear view mirror and focus on newer things like the spy action-thriller MALKO from Lionsgate.

Malko is based on the best selling book series S.A.S. which hails from author Gerard de Villiers. Lionsgate recently acquired the worldwide motion picture rights to the books which at present have sold more than 20 million copies around the world. It looks like the company has found their star in Fassbender who will play super agent Malko Linge in the first Of a potential franchise.

Eric Warren Singer (Top Gun: Maverick) who is an Oscar nominated screen writer is penning the script.

According to Deadline who dropped the details: “Fassbender will play the super spy for hire Malko Linge, an Austrian nobleman and freelance CIA operative who spent his formative years in a special Nazi work camp for captured spies. Malko learned the intricate dark arts of tradecraft from the best. Now, an adult living in a reclaimed family manor fallen into disrepair, Malko becomes a spy for hire. He is the ultimate agent without an agency – a gentleman warrior without a country who works according to his own moral code and lives the only way a man who has grown up in the face of death can: with a wicked wit and a lust for all things in life, even the things that might kill him. The first film will largely be based upon de Villier’s book Checkpoint Charlie.

The report says that Fassbender will also serve as a producer on the film as well. Along with these books, Lionsgate has also acquired de Villier’s entire catalog of best seeking espionage action books which total 200 books in all.

This project is certainly ongoing so keep it locked and loaded for more to come with Malko as we are your destination for everything action!!!!
