The day has arrived and with it the trailer for the highly anticipated martial arts actioner from reigning screen fighting maestro Kenji Tanagaki is at hand. The film is The Furious and it stars a powerhouse martial arts cast that sees Xie Miao (The New Legend of Shaolin) and Joe Taslim (Mortal Kombat) headlining a movie that is already being called the best action film of 2026. I won’t bore you anymore and will now premiere the trailer for your viewing enjoyment below!
The Furious marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed stunt choreographer Kenji Tanigaki (Snake Eyes, Rurouni Kenshin). Produced by Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), the film boasts an international cast including Xie Miao (The New Legend of Shaolin), Joe Taslim (Mortal Kombat), Brian Le (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and more. It follows humble tradesman Wang Wei, whose daughter Rainy is abducted, thrusting him into a deadly underworld of corruption and violence. His only ally is Navin, a relentless journalist haunted by his own past; together, they fight through an international criminal network in a desperate bid to save Rainy and uncover the truth.

The Furious marks the long-awaited directorial debut of prolific stunt and fight choreographer Kenji Tanigaki who is known for Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins and Rurouni Kenshin. The latter is considered one of the best martial arts epics ever so The Furious looks to dethrone that one and it looks promising that it will. The supporting cast includes Yang Enyou. Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, Guo Junqing, and Winai Wiangyangkung with special appearances by Yayan Ruhian and Jija Yanin.

The trailer for The Furious is everything we as martial arts action films could ever hope for as Miao and Taslim unleash some of the most savage, brutal and unflinching action design ever put to celluloid. Highlights include Miao going to town with assailants in an MMA Octagon with a hammer as he literally beats people’s head in with ferocious and untapped brutality. We also get to see Taslim and his fellow The Raid co-star Yayan Ruhian square off in a rematch that promises to be even more insane and hard hitting than their previous one in Gareth Evans’ classic action pic. This is throat ripping, eye gauging, unforgiving martial arts action that will satisfy on all levels.
This is martial combat in its purest and savage form yet and the footage is a bevy of no holds barred, gravity defying, death defying fight choreography that is inventive, fierce and killer with a team of today’s top martial arts action stars serving up a master class of apocalyptic empty handed mayhem that nothing else will come close to. May cannot come fast enough.
