Black Bear has rolled out a new clip from the anticipated action-thriller In the Grey which sees prolific filmmaker Guy Ritchie reunited with his favorite muses in Eiza González, Henry Cavill & Jake Gyllenhaal. The film has been delayed but it is finally almost here and now we have another taste of the tier one antics at play with the film. Check out the new footage below!
In The Grey follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be for anyone else a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception and survival.
A new poster has even debuted, and I must say that it is underwhelming for a movie of this caliber with the talent involved. When Guy Ritchie teams up with three of Hollywood’s biggest stars at the moment, I expect better people. Anyway, I digress so view it below!

Along with our three leading heavyweights, the supporting cast includes Kristofer Hivju, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jason Wong, Michael Vu, with Fisher Stevens, Rosamund Pike, and Carlos Bardem. Once again, Ritchie writes and directs and also produced along with John Friedberg, Dave Caplan, and Ivan Atkinson.
Lionsgate was originally setting on a January 17th last year but was unfortunately delayed until Black Bear, who recently put out fellow Guy Ritchie collaborator Jason Statham’s Shelter earlier this year, picked up distribution rights and the film will now see a May 15th launch.
Even with the lackluster key art, I’m still excited for this as my initial review to the trailer that hit last week showcases plentiful combat action, machismo attributes, practical stunts and that sly Ritchie sarcasm and dry humor that oozes off the screen. The trinity of Eiza González, Henry Cavill & Jake Gyllenhaal look more than capable to entertain, and the chemistry looks solid so this should hit with much bite upon release.
