At one point, insiders were talking if the sendoff film to the Fast and the Furious franchise would even happen due to budgetary issues and more behind the scenes drama but never underestimate Dominic Torreto AKA Vin Diesel baby! That’s right, Diesel has taken to his official social media to confirm that the last ride (or supposed last ride) will officially put the pedal to the metal on March 17th of 2028. With the news, we also have the official title for number eleven of the blockbuster action franchise as it will be called Fast Forever.
Diesel shared the news along with an image of himself and the late great Paul Walker from the first film. With the image, diesel stated, “No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy… And a legacy… lasts forever. March 2028! FAST FOREVER.”

Plot details are classified right now for the eleventh film, but we do know that the insane cliffhanger from the last entry will be addressed where the unstoppable Dominic Torreto looked to have met his end. Now clearly that won’t happen because he is the face of the franchise, but it will certainly be interesting to see what happens after all the devastation at the end of Fast X. There are rumors that Universal wanted to slash the bloated budget of the more recent entries so it will be interesting to see how they bring this all to a satisfying conclusion with less the money involved.
The cast of Fast X included Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, John Cena as Jakob Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Sung Kang as Han Lue, Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody, Daniela Melchior as Isabel Neves, Alan Ritchson as Aimee, Helen Mirren as Magdalene “Queenie” Ellmanson-Shaw, Brie Larson as Tess Petty, Rita Moreno as Abuelita Toretto, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes, Charlize Theron as Cipher, Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar who came back from the dead, and Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs who returned via a stinger scene. Who all returns remain to be seen. They will definitely release the full cast as it gets closer.
Diesel is still teasing the return of Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor. Now how they will do this remains to be seen but they chose to keep the character alive when Walker passed away. Paul’s brothers Cody Walker and Caleb Walker did fill in to shoot some scenes for Furious 7 as Cody was used for a body double and Caleb helped with facial capture. We shall see what transpires this time around.
The Fast and Furious films have taken a hit over the years with audiences as many have claimed that the series has elevated to way over the top status, but I still love them and will always defend them as these are the types of popcorn munching flicks you go to see during the summer months. The Fast and Furious movies are the very definition of summer movie box office. They are crazy, full-throttle, suspend disbelief actioners that look to ramp up each installment with the wildest set pieces one will ever see on the big screen. I go to the movies to escape reality, and this IP is the very definition of forget your troubles and watch the absurd in the best way possible for two plus hours.
There is much more to come as now we know when the last (?) film in the Fast and Furious franchise will hit! Lock ‘N Load and buckle up buttercup! Fast Forever is revving up!
