2026 is going to be one hell of a hard-hitting year for action star/filmmaker and martial artist Bren Foster. Hot on the heels of his triumphant 2024 action pic Life After Fighting (which he starred in as well as produced, wrote and directed), Foster is also set to follow up that chef’s kiss with another round of high octane beatdowns in his upcoming Relentless. If that wasn’t enough, Foster is also teaming up his lethal particular skill set with two other acclaimed action maestro filmmakers working in action cinema in Luke LaFontaine and Jesse V. Johnson with the upcoming pic Mexicali.
Formerly known as The Farmer, the movie, from Bleiberg Entertainment, has received a title change and the flick sees Foster starring as an ex-fighter turned farm worker who enrages a local gang while making money in the underground fighting circuit. Expect mass damage, visceral beatdowns and relentless (pardon the pun), gravity defying action design to follow as no one is doing better than LaFontaine when it comes to crafting bloody action behind the camera. The action director and choreographer, who is making his directorial debut here, has honed his skills throughout the decades and combining a script written by fellow hardcore filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson, this one is without a doubt a can’t miss. Check out the recently released sales poster which oozes a retro 80’s cinema vibe!

Ex-fighter Joe helps run his partner Estrella’s farm in Mexico. After taking underground fights to support workers, he’s forced to defend himself and Marco when Chavez’s gang attacks them on the road.
Mexicali sees a seasoned genre cast join Foster in Tania Raymonde (Deep Blue Sea 3 where she also starred with Foster), Plutarco Haza (El Señor de los Cielos) and JCVD’s own son Kris Van Damme (Enemies Closer, Kill “Em All) who is a chip off the old block when it comes to martial arts action.
We are still waiting on first look footage and a release date for the film, but it is expected to hit sometime in 2026. Check out some behind the scenes pics featuring cast and crew courtesy of the IMDb in the gallery below!

LaFontaine and Johnson have had a lucrative working relationship over the years with the two working together on such action classics like Pit Fighter, Alien Agent, The Butcher, Savage Dog, The Debt Collector and Triple Threat just to name a few. Both have cut their teeth in the sunt world and have garnered the respect and admiration of those in the industry. Foster is one of the legit action stars working today and should be a bigger star as he is a frigging human special effect when it comes to onscreen fighting. All three are basically the equivalent to The Delta Force when comparing the insane talent they all contain.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more intel to come on Mexicali as well as all future projects from this action cinema trinity as we are the ultimate destination for your action fix!!!!
