What better way to come back from a nice Thanksgiving break than to premiere a new trailer from The Stath. Jason Statham is back and going full auto and protector in his new actioner Shelter from Angel Has Fallen and Greenland helmer Ric Roman Waugh. Enough talk though! It’s time to watch Statham do Statham things!
A recluse on a remote Scottish island rescues a girl from the sea, unleashing a perilous sequence of events that culminate in an attack on his home, compelling him to face his turbulent history.

Shelter is directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) and produced by Black Bear, Punch Palace Pictures, CineMachine, and Stampede Ventures. Producers are Jason Statham, Black Bear’s John Friedberg, Brendon Boyea, Greg Silverman, and Jon Berg. Executive producers are Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Andrew Golov, and Mike Shanks, as well as Ric Roman Waugh, Rachael Cole, Volodymyr Artemenko, Yevgen Stupka, Macdara Kelleher, Victor Hadida, Gideon Yu, and Elizabeth A. Bell. Shelter was written by Ward Parry.

Statham stars alongside Underworld franchise legend Bill Nighy. Ward Perry penned the script and here’s hoping Statham can bounce back as many were not fans of the action star’s last film A Working Man. While not as fantastic as The Beekeeper, I still enjoyed watching Statham kick dubious amounts of ass even if the plot was convoluted.
Anyway, I’m such a fan of The Stath that he could do a musical and as long as he terminates with extreme prejudice, I’ll be there with popcorn in one hand and a soda in the other. This looks like Statham executing his own full throttle version of Home Alone so let the crescendo of violence commence!
Shelter is only in theaters on January 30th, 2026!
