I don’t know what’s better with the new trailer for director James Nunn’s black ops thriller Wildcat. The fact that we are once again witnessing the birth of Lewis Tan as a full-on action star or that Kate Beckinsale continues to go full on femme fatale. Well, both are on display as Aura Entertainment has locked on and released the trailer for the film which doesn’t disappoint in the adrenaline department with its new footage. Scroll below for the goods!
An ex-black ops team reunites to pull off a desperate heist and save an eight-year-old girl’s life. They have only 12 hours to navigate the lethal streets amidst a citywide riot, pay a large ransom, and frame a dangerous criminal organization.

The supporting cast includes Rasmus Hardiker, Alice Krige, Bailey Patrick, Tom Bennett, Matt Willis, and Roxy Striar. Nunn, the indie action maestro of such action instant classics like the One Shot franchise with Scott Adkins and Eliminators, seeks to deploy some pretty gnarly action design with Beckinsale and Tan utilizing their particular set of skills. Dominic Burns (Allies) penned the script as well. Anytime someone uses what they have handy as Escrima Sticks always gets an A in my book and tan does just that in one particular beatdown scene. Let the brutality commence.
Wildcat also reestablishes my firm belief that if you kidnap a child or any loved one for that matter, make sure mom or dad or both aren’t former elite black ops operatives. That never ends well for the criminals and here looks more of the same, but I don’t mind if it all leads to action design that is welcoming on every scale. Tan also has another satisfyingly looking action yarn hitting this Friday with the release of Safe House so this might be a rad double feature in the making for the near future.
