Like I stated when the first trailer hit for Netflix’s new Black Ops animated series Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, it may not be the live action film they teased us with, but I’ll take it. Netflix’s latest excursion into adult animation looks to fill the need and scratch the itch for video gamers who are looking for a proper Splinter Cell screen adaptation. This newest trailer only adds ammunition to the clip as Sam Fisher, voiced by Liev Schreiber, looks stone cold killer. Take a peek at the new footage and poster below!
In this first-ever adaptation of the acclaimed stealth video game Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, legendary agent Sam Fisher is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks out his help.

Additional voice cast includes Kirby (The Sandman) playing Zinnia McKenna, Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra) taking on the role of Anna Grimsdottir, and Joel Oulette (Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender) bringing up the rear as Thunder. Hardcore fans of the game definitely know Anna Grimsdottir who is the ally and Tech Officer for Sam while the others are brand new players for the series.
Like it was mentioned above, this series hits after Chaos Theory as the newly released trailer showcases Sam attending the funeral of one-time comrade Douglas Shetland who he had to kill in the bestselling entry of the video games series. Couple that with some rather slick action design for an animated show including Sam jumping and firing off a deadly salvo of rounds before he hits the ground and this has the makings of a solid and satisfying adaptation of this dark and deadly world of hidden warriors.
The show hails from John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad so that definitely bodes well for the show too. Kolstad. along with writing the series, also serves as executive producer along with Helene Juguet and Hugo Revon as well as Ubisoft Film & Television’s Gerard Guillemot.
