Yojimbo meets Mad Max meets every other apocalyptic style action movie one can think of in the new thriller The Last Ronin. Not to be confused with the classic story from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this one hails from director Max Shishkin, the film which hits Digital in September is a feverish merging of samurai style action and John Woo style Fun Fu for a savage aesthetic of a world gone mad in so many ways. How screwed up is it? The main currency now comes in the form of ammunition preferably bullets so that gives you a simple taste of how bad things have gotten.

Synopsis:
Nuclear war and climate change have rendered the world a wasteland. In a landscape where survival is not guaranteed and bullets are the only currency, Ronin (Yuri Kolokolnikov) seeks revenge for his father’s murder. A young girl requests his help to return to her birthplace, a dangerous journey which will require all his fighting skills to survive.
