Today sees the release of the new and modern western Day of Reckoning which stars Zach Roerig, Billy Zane, Cara Jade Myers and action icon Scott Adkins. Combining some pretty solid character driven drama with blistering gun play and beat downs, this one is definitely one you should add to your watch list.
Adkins is all bad here as the renegade they’d and Zane is superb as always playing a US Marshal harboring a dark secret and Rotten Tomatoes has an extended preview for fans to sink their teeth into. Be warned though as this preview is the climax so if you not bothered by spoilers, then indulge yourself in the mayhem below!

Day of Reckoning handles the tropes it honors well and serves up some moral answers to boot as we learn that everyone has skeletons in their closet. The action may be few and far between which may turn some hardcore action fans off but if you stick with it there is enough carnage to satisfy, and you just might get involved with the characters and what they are dealing with. I actually thought this was a nice change of pace and was sort of captivated so my apologies if I like an action/thriller that tries something a little different. Of course, this is more of a low-budget affair so don’t expect over the top action antics but what is shown is brutal and real, stripped down and resonates the appropriate adrenaline rush.
Official Synopsis: On the verge of losing his wife and his job as sheriff, put-upon lawman John Dorsey reluctantly teams up with bullish U.S. Marshall Butch Hayden to hold outlaw Emily Rusk hostage. A battle of wills ensues as Emily turns the posse on themselves, but as her marauding husband and his gang approach, Emily and John realize they will need each other to survive.
Shaun Silva helms from a script penned by Travis J. Opgenorth. Trace Adkins also makes an appearance as Big Buck.
