Chad Michael Collins is coming off hot from his January release of Sniper: The Last Stand, which is the best in the long running action series yet and a serious contender for best action film of 2025, and he’s not slowing down as he is currently in production on the next installment as well. Collins is one of this generation’s elite action stars and now he’s back with another war thriller although this time there’s a supernatural twist to go along with the proceedings.
Deadline has announced that Collins will headline a new Middle eastern war thriller titled Recoil via Alliance Media Partners and the Australian indie film company Prodigy Pictures. The film is heading to Cannes for distribution consideration, and we have the full intel for you below!
Set in an unforgiving desert, Recoil is described as a “relentless war thriller with a mind-bending supernatural twist that will grip you from the first frame and never let go.”
The synopsis reads: Three marooned soldiers. An immobilized infantry vehicle. The unforgiving desert. And a deadly curse that turns their reality into a waking nightmare. This is not just another Middle Eastern war film—this is war at its most psychological, its most visceral, and its most terrifying. (Per Deadline)
Recoil is helmed by Nick Robertson (The Pack) with Michael Robertson and UK producer Chris Wheeldon serving as producers. The two have collaborated before on the film Black Water, a survival thriller.
The Sniper franchise continues to redefine itself and the last installment brought it back to its military roots with authentic tactical action sequences. It will be great to see Collins in a new kind of role and doing something different with the war theme. Collins has always been great to Action-Flix, so we always look to support him and his projects as much as possible.
