Action fans worldwide will be seeing Ana de Armas come next summer as the versatile actress is finally set to be unleashed in the new John Wick Universe spin-off project From the World of John Wick: Ballerina which hails from Underworld franchise director Len Wiseman. The movie has seen its share of delays and situations behind the production but hopefully we will be treated with another rousing salvo in the arsenal from the Bab Yaga Universe. After all, the first tailer released was certainly enough to whet our appetites for more and de Armis looked sensational in the scenes showed especially the action set pieces with the signature John Wick/Gun Fu mayhem.
A new poster has been unleashed courtesy of Lionsgate and de Armas is locked and loaded and looking rather tantalizing as she is lit up in the neon colors the franchise is known for. Check out the key art along with a new image of de Armas doing John Wick stylish things below!

You can tell the new poster takes its cues from the iconic poster showing Reeves as Wick from John Wick Chapter 3- Parabellum. I feel that this is best as it will draw casual movie goers to the film as they will certainly connect this film with Reeves’ franchise of stellar action cinema.
Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina – in theaters June 6! Starring Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, with Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves.
Lionsgate presents, a Thunder Road Films / 87eleven production.
Ana de Armas will play a lethal lady skilled in tactical violence who seeks to avenge her family when they are killed by hitmen. The film takes place in the shared universe of Wick so franchise stars will include Ian McShane as Winston as the owner of the Continental Hotel, along with the late, great Lance Reddick as Charon, who is The Continental’s concierge and right-hand man to Winston. Anjelica Huston will also reprise her role as the Director, the head of the Ruska Roma while franchise star Keanu reeves will make an appearance as Wick himself. New cast members include Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Mareno, David Byrne, and David Castañeda.
At one time Ballerina was its own movie having nothing to do with John Wick but in time, the script was retooled to be included as a spin-off. Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard, and Lucifer) helms the movie but the project garnered unfavorable publicity when it was revealed that franchise helmer and creator Chad Stahelski was brought on board to ramp up the movie’s numerous action set pieces. Franchise scribe Derek Kolstad penned the script along with Shay Hatten. Tomorrow, we shall see how he did in that aspect, but I always have faith in Chad.
The trailer released a while back was as advertised with Ana de Armas going tactical Gun Fu. What culminated was a trailer filled with de Armas going primal on numerous stuntmen as she eliminates assassins with guns, knives, grenades, her fists and feet, fire hoses and a skate. Yes, even a skate is deployed to savagely annihilate a very deserving killer, and it did not disappoint as Keanu Reeves’ iconic assassin does indeed show up at the end. Set to a bolder reimagining of Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, Ana de Armas is worthy of being in the John Wick universe. BRING IT! Scroll below for all the hyper-kinetic John Wick Gun Fu brilliance!
