UPDATE NOTE: The trailer has since been taken down because I believe YOUKU does not want to advertise this movie at all. That’s the only thing I can think of, but you can still see it in my uncut Trailer Tactical Podcast embedded below. I will, of course, repost the trailer once an official one hits so stay tuned true believers!
First of all, big props for my boy That Phat Samurai GUY AKA Preston Downey for delivering this to me this morning but…YO!…action fanatics, Tony Jaa is back as a motherf***er and I mean back like in Ong Bak, hospital visit stunts back as he has a new movie hitting the Chinese streaming service YOUKU called Striking Rescue. There was virtually no intel on this one except the bone breaking and injury inducing new trailer that has surfaced on the web. All I can say is scroll below for the full impact!
New Intel reports that the movie was helmed by Cheng Siyi and it tells the story of a former soldier who looks to avenge the death of his wife and child. In the process of tracking the leader and his army down, Jaa’s character succumbs to the darkness of revenge and initiates a frenzied kill mission of all responsible.

You can see from the above video that Jaa is looking like he found the fountain of youth as he delivers all the insane and body blasting action set pieces he delivered back in the day. We’re talking blunt force trauma inducing flying double knees, cranium cracking elbows, lightning kicks and ferocious fists infused with the bloody balletic action design that Jaa is known for. This movie certainly has the look and feel of his earlier efforts like the iconic Ong Bak as well as The Protector and it will definitely blow anything the action legend has done lately right out of the temple.

The trailer does invoke words like revenge, and phrases like “revenge madness eradicate evil.” Sign me the “F” up STAT and give us this film here in the states yesterday. With the election tomorrow and this country almost on the verge of going to hell in a handbasket, I need a little body obliterating distraction to take my mind off how this world literally sucks nowadays.
We do know that Xing Yu (Ip Man, Kung Fu Hustle) co-stars with Jaa and really, do you need to know anything else from watching that teaser? I thought not. Additional cast members do include Philip Keung Hiu-Man from who also starred in Shock Wave as well as Yu Bolin of Sniper: Vengeance. The movie hits this Friday in China on YOUKU and why it’s streaming only is a mystery but again, who the “F” cares and give the rest of the world this high-octane, fever inducing, bone and blood splattering goodness now. Have a nice Monday everyone.
With the talent involved and Jaa back in fine fighting form except international distribution news to hit in the near future. Lock N Load for more to hit with Tony Jaa and Striking Rescue!
