I can admit when I’m wrong and here is a prime example of me saying that I am. When the Scott Adkins film Take Cover was announced, I thought that it was going to be a more cerebral thriller with the action star playing a cat and mouse game with a mysterious sniper. The movie was helmed by former stunt professional turned director Nick McKinless so I still knew that it would contain some hyper action and amazing stunt work that only Adkins could deliver.
Well, I was wrong and right as the new trailer for Take Cover is upon us and while it is a story about a cat and mouse game between our action hero and a silent killer, there is plenty of full throttle shoot outs and extreme action design to be had as Adkins runs a gauntlet of armed mercenaries as well as our unknown assailant. Scroll below and watch Scott Adkins do, well, Scott Adkins things as he turns on his full one-man army mode in the official trailer below!
Official Synopsis: Scott Adkins has got no cover, no back-up, and no way out in this claustrophobic action thriller. Sam Lorde has spent a lifetime killing people. After a hit gone wrong, he finds himself disillusioned and lacking purpose, deciding to retire as a hitman. His final job however, results in him being a target himself. With little to no cover, he must fight with everything he has to survive. Starring Scott Adkins (One More Shot), Jack Parr (Peaky Blinders), Alice Eve (Bombshell), Madalina Bellariu Ion (The Young Pope) and Billy Clements (Meg 2: The Trench). Take Cover is written by Joshua Todd James (Pound of Flesh) and directed by Nick McKinless (The Iron Grip).

From a script written by Joshua Todd James, Take Cover has a pretty impressive supporting cast that includes Alice Eve who is best known for movies like She’s Out of Your League, Star Trek Into Darkness and Men in Black 3. This is the directorial debut for McKinless who has served his stunt talents well on films and series like Fast X, Gangs of London and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
I’m also digging the humor on display in the trailer with Adkins’ character Sam Lorde having plenty of banter with co-star Jack Parr who plays his comrade Ken. Parr also starred with Adkins as one of the Navy SEALS in One Shot, so they look to have some great repour with one another. I’m picking up some Tango & Cash vibes and that is certainly welcoming along with all the firepower and fisticuffs. The trailer is stacked with jaw dropping stunts, fight choreography and theatrics and I must admit that Take Cover looks like it should be hitting theaters worldwide as it has a very high budgeted look to it. Subsequently, Adkins can be seen on the big screen as he takes on Dave Bautista in director J.J. Perry’s stunt filled assassin actioner The Killers Game which hits cinemas nationwide
