It is with heavy heart that we announce that Chad McQueen, son of legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen has sadly passed away. A well respected actor in his own right, McQueen was most famous for playing the Cobra Kai member Dutch in the original Karate Kid film. It’s been another rough week as Hollywood legend and the voice of Darth Vader James Earl Jones passed a few days ago as well.

McQueen did solidify his action star status in the 80’s and 90’s playing in a host of revered DTV actioners like the genre favorite Martial Law where he executed some signature skills taking down David Carradine beside Cynthia Rothrock. as well as New York Cop, Death Ring, Firepower with Gary Daniels and one of my all time guilty pleasures Nightforce along with genre queen Linda Blair. He was always one of my favorites and even though he didn’t reach cult status like his dad, he brought the swagger onscreen and an unmatched tough guy legitimately.

TMZ brought the unfortunate and sad news today and it’s being reported that McQueen succumbed to organ failure due to an accident he sustained a few years ago.
Aside from acting, Chad was also an accomplished race car driver competing in several tournaments. He also was a martial artist having trained under action icon Chuck Norris and he utilized his talents in numerous feature films.
It was long rumored that McQueen would reprise his role of the villainous Dutch in the last season of the hit series Cobra Kai but alas that was not meant to be.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chad’s family and friends. Rest in Power Dutch.
