The acquisition train is rolling along as we have official confirmation that Brainstorm media has just acquired the rights to the latest Christian Sesma helmed action-thriller 72 Hours which teams Sam Trammel with Cam Gigandet. The two play brothers on opposite sides of the law who must band together to take on a formidable threat. Sesma has been quietly killing it in the indie action circuit as of late as the filmmaker has delivered several full throttle action pics like Every Last One of Them with Paul Sloan, Section 8 with Dolph Lundgren and Ryan Kwanten and, most recently, Lights Out starring Frank Grillo and Scott Adkins. Sesma has some pretty solid action film talent to work with once again in Trammell and Gigandet so this one should deliver the needed adrenaline for an action starved audience. Brainstorm Media is thrilled to announce the acquisition of the gripping action-thriller 72 HOURS, directed by Christian Sesma (Section 8, Take Back) and starring Sam Trammell (True Blood), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Nicky Whelan (Halloween 2), and Jana Kramer (One Tree Hill). The acquisition deal was negotiated by Tamara Nagahiro of Grandave and Alex Peters of Brainstorm Media.

72 HOURS tells the story of two brothers, a dedicated FBI agent and a crypto international money launderer, who must put aside their differences and join forces to save their family. The duo embarks on a dangerous mission deep into kingpin territory, where they face life-threatening challenges in a race against time.
“We are so thrilled to be working on 72 Hours with the Toric Films and Grandave teams. Christian is a director we’ve long been a fan of, and this movie has a lot to be excited about: kinetic action, an excellent cast, and a unique take on a classic premise that audiences will love,” says Michelle Shwarzstein, Brainstorm Media CEO.
72 HOURS promises to deliver a thrilling experience, blending intense action with a compelling story of family, loyalty, and survival.
“Working on 72 Hours to create a great collaboration with Toric Films and their partner Brainstorm Media is an exciting release, especially with the very talented ensemble cast we put together,” says director Christian Sesma. “Shooting a tight, action thriller in South Georgia with the team at Workhorse Cinema really allowed us to stretch the scope of our production and bring the crime heist genre to life. I’m very much looking forward to the general public’s response to what we really made sure was a family story about two brothers and their loyalty to one another above all else.”
72 HOURS is based on an original story by Roberto Sanchez (2 Fast 2 Furious), with the screenplay co-written by Christian Sesma and Sean Crayne. Produced by Toric Films in association with Beacon Media, the film’s production team includes David Wachs and Ojan Missaghi, with Manoj Narender Madnani and Gurpreet Chandhoke serving as executive producers.
72 HOURS is set to release on November 1, 2024. For more information about the film and Brainstorm Media’s upcoming releases, please visit Brainstorm Media’s Website: Brainstormmedia.com.
