Hot off the heels of the success of Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus (which besides the last 15 minutes, I still consider the best Alien film since the first two) FX has now unleashed a brand-new synopsis and a Xenomorph laced teaser for their highly anticipated series Alien: Earth. The show’s events take place three decades before the first iconic film from Ridley Scott and it deals with a woman teaming with tactical soldiers to battle a new threat that descends on our planet. Check out the new synopsis and the very short 15 second teaser below!
The official synopsis reads: When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth from creator Noah Hawley.

Coincidentally, the new Alien series is set to hit HULU soon which was going to be the site for Romulus before 20th Century Films reconsidered and released the film in theaters which is proving to be a great choice as the film is making bank. It makes me wonder if the Predator pic Prey would have done any business if that movie had made it to theaters instead of premiering on HULU, but it was too close to after the pandemic so that choice seemed more feasible.
I am digging the synopsis for the TV series, and I hope that we get some bombastic set pieces with a James Cameron Aliens flair with soldiers battling Xenomorphs for the first time on Earth. I also think that the tactical soldiers are what will eventually be the Colonial Marines, and we will see an earlier version of the force in the show. Color me excited!
Alien: earth is set to unleash in 2025, but an exact release date has not been set so lock n load and stay tuned!
