When one is talking action cinema, the conversation of underrated talent is always a hot topic as there are many men and women who should be bigger stars in the industry. One such talent is Vietnamese/American filmmaker and martial artist Peter Pham who with such previous titles as The Foggy Mountain and a host of short films including the HI-YAH! proof of concept original short Mayhem (which should have received the feature length treatment if you ask me) is one individual whose star is on the rise. Pham is a legit bad ass being a trained practitioner in the fighting discipline of Wing Chun and his sick skill set translates well onto the screen as he is also an accomplished action designer and choreographer. While Pham’s filmography arsenal is relatively light right now, he’s working on that post haste.
Utilizing his social media, Pham has issued brand new key art and an explosive trailer full of epic action goodness for his next love letter to hyper-kinetic action with Operation Crossbow. Pham assumes all the hats here as he stars in and directs the supercharged fight fest. Partake in all the glorious chaos available online below!

Pham isn’t alone as he has stacked the talent in front of and behind the camera with accomplished onscreen fighters including Triple Threat’s Ron Smoorenburg (Art of Eight Limbs) and Simon Kook (Mayhem!, Fistful of Vengeance, The Foggy Mountain). Stunt coordinating duties reside with JOHNSON KHANTHAVONGSAY, BOBBY KIRWEN, JEFF COLANGELO and JONATHAN WILLIAMS who look to have thrown everything in plus the kitchen sink when it comes to the action design which includes multiple beatdowns, explosions and tracer fire.

Plot details are scarce as of now, but Pham plays a super-agent who is tasked with saving the world while employing a vast amount of Gun Fu, Kung Fu and enough bullet and fisticuffs fueled bravado for two films. Upon viewing the trailer, the inevitable comparisons will be made to a certain blockbuster franchise starring Keanu Reeves but let me just say that past action heroes were still wearing black suits and executing hyper-kinetic martial arts infused gunplay before that series came out so that argument is invalid.
Hopefully the fine folks over at Well Go USA and their subsequent HI-YAH! action film streaming service tackle this one seeing as both The Foggy Mountain and Mayhem are already exclusives there. It makes perfect sense and shows that the company already thinks highly of Pham.
