This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! We are exactly six days out from the glorious premiere of director Sam Hargrave’s Extraction 2 which is locked ‘n’ loaded to virtually kick the original right in the ass with even more amped up action set pieces that are going to make you want to watch them again.
The initial teaser and trailer pretty much made me go into action overload so franchise star Chris Hemsworth is a welcome sight as he returns from the dead as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake.
New character posters have dropped which feature Hemsworth in full on action hero mode along with co-stars Golshifteh Farahani as Nik and Adam Bessa as Yaz. Check out all three one sheets that highlight all three actors as they get their collective action groove on!
Once again, I’ve said that Extraction 2 with Chris Hemsworth is one contender to outdo John Wick Chapter 4 for 2023 action supremacy. Regardless, it still looks like it’ll be the ultimate kick ass summer action flick and will outdo the first one on scope and set pieces.
The official synopsis reads,
Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake inEXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González. EXTRACTION 2 is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall and Sam Hargrave, with Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as executive producers.
This Friday, June 16th is the launch date so prepare yourselves accordingly!
